Handling & operation of the Vitamix E310
The Vitamix E310 has a simple and intuitive operating concept: the on/off switch on the right side starts the blending process. The jog dial in the middle controls the blending speed (10 speed levels). The left button is used for the so-called Pulse function. By pressing and holding the button, you directly start on the chosen speed level. However, the same can be done using the on/off switch.

Container
The Vitamix E310 is equipped with a 1.4 liter container, which has a few advantages over Vitamix's much taller 2 liter container. The compact hight allows the Vitamix E310 to fit under any kitchen counter and makes it easier to clean. Since the container is not only lower, but also narrower, smaller blending quantities or individual portions starting at 250 ml are possible. This is advantageous when you want to prepare ice cream or perishable preparations such as hummus. If larger quantities are needed - for example: Your family of four loves to drink green smoothies and you need to feed four mouths every morning - you may need to blender a second batch.
The lid of the container is equipped with the typical Vitamix cap. The cap can be opened during blending in order to push the ingredients back to the blades with the tamper.
Cleaning the Vitamix E310
Cleaning the Vitamix E310 container
The easiest way to clean the container is to rinse it with water right after preparing liquid meals, such as green smoothies or almond milk. You can then either dry it with a kitchen towel or let it air dry. Done. For thicker preparations, simply fill the container halfway with lukewarm water, add 1 to 2 drops of rinsing agent and blend on maximum speed for about 30 seconds. Rinse the container with water afterwards. If there is still food residue - especially underneath the blades - we recommend the use of our practical cleaning brush.
Deep Cleaning with Bakiing Soda:
If the mixing container becomes slightly discolored over time, for example, due to frequent blending of leafy greens, herbs, and wild herbs, we recommend a deep cleaning with baking soda.

Our cleaning recommendation: Regardless of manufacturer instructions, we advise against cleaning the container, container lid, and insert in the dishwasher. Our experience shows that you can extend the lifespan of the container through manual cleaning.
Cleaning the Vitamix E310 motor block
Food residues or dirt on the motor block can easily be wiped off with a damp cloth. The rubber mat on the motor block can be removed for cleaning.

Vitamix E310 vs. Vitamix E320
Before we discuss the differences between the Vitamix E310 and E320, let's first talk about their commonality: Both blenders belong to the Vitamix Explorian Series and have the same motor base - meaning the E310 and E320 are equally powerful and operate in the same way. The difference lies in the container: The Vitamix E310 is equipped with a versatile 1.4-liter container, allowing you to prepare all popular blender recipes in small to medium quantities. This is definitely advantageous if you only want to make 400 ml of pesto or nice cream, or even just a small glass of green smoothie starting from 250 ml.
With the Vitamix E320, small quantities without an additional container are not possible. For liquid preparations, it starts at around 400 ml, and for thick preparations, it starts at around 800 ml. Although the container of the E320 is similarly compact and low, fitting under any kitchen cabinet, it has a total capacity of 2 liters, which implies a significantly wider container base. Vitamix E310 vs. Vitamix E520

Should the E310 become too small at some point, a matching 2.0 liter container can always be purchased. The E310 allows you to enter the Vitamix world for under 600 €. The containers are approved for temperatures up to 100 degrees Celsius. You can use the blender to make soup from raw vegetables, for example, or to puree an already prepared soup or to process cooked vegetables into soup. Make sure the ingredients or soup to be pureed are not hotter than 100 degrees Celsius. So feel free to let an already cooked soup cool a bit before pureeing.

1.) With the 1.4 liter container, you should stick to about 350-400 ml as a minimum preparation quantity for viscous preparations, such as Nice Cream. This corresponds to about 3-4 bananas. (It, of course, depends on the size of the fruit)
2.) The device automatically goes into overheating protection mode if you use insufficient speed for viscous food over a long period of time. Always mix at speed 6-10 or use the pulse function.

Hi, I've had the E310 for a week now, and I'm happy to have a perfectly puréed smoothie every morning :-) since I'm still an absolute beginner in the high-speed blender world, I have a question about the Vitamix. When I started blending, I was a little concerned that the container was too loose on the base. The container slightly moves in the direction of blending, but is then stopped by the bumps.
Is this phenomenon and the smell (smell only in the beginning) normal?

The play and the twisting of the 1.4l container during blending is intended by Vitamix and has the main purpose that the container is easy to put on and then turns into a fixed position. This is completely normal and harmless for the 1.4 liter container.
Especially in the early days, but also later on, heavier use will cause further hardening of the motor windings.
This curing causes a burning smell and is typical for winding motors.
The smell will no longer occur after a few intensive uses of the machine.

Basically, the E310 is well suited for grinding flaxseed.
However, the container can become dull over time (due to friction during grinding).
Therefore, it is not a bad idea to buy an additional grinding container;)
BUT: the 1.4-liter container that comes with the Vitamix E310 can also be used for grinding ingredients. The only drawback is the appearance of the container over time.

Hello, I am wavering between the S30 and the E310. Although being a one-person household, I have a feeling that the 0.6 liter container actually is too small for me. Furthermore, I really love making whipped cream – Am I right-thinking that this won't work so well with 0.6l cup?
The E310 only is 50€ more expensive, therefore as a second option. But I'm really not sure if maybe the 1.4l cup is too big?

Both Vitamix devices are superb. The S30 can also prepare Nice Cream, but only with the 1.2 liter container.
The minimum preparation quantity (viscous ingredients) for the 1.4 liter container is 400 ml. Small and medium quantities can be prepared flawlessly with the E310. The E310 also has the advantage that several additional containers are available if needed. Whereas the S30 only has the above-mentioned 2 containers.

For your 1.4 liter container, we recommend the following procedure: Place the container in the sink and fill it with hot water through the opening in the lid. Fill with hot water (80-90 degrees) until the water runs out the top. Then let the water cool down. After that, the lids should fit.
It is important, especially with viscous ingredients, to work with a minimum fill volume of 400 ml. Otherwise, the blades will run dry and not be able to grip the food properly. The use of the tamper is also essential here.

If you only want to grind occasionally, the 1.4-liter container is sufficient.
However, nut milk does not even count as grinding, since liquid is mixed in.

By the way, from the minimum quantities, the two containers are the same. Because one container is smaller does NOT mean that you can prepare smaller quantities in it. (Although many intuitively assume this)
This customer has been wavering between the TNC and the E310. Does your answer relate specifically to these two containers? Because if not I made a bad purchase this weekend.... i have the Pro300 which yes also has a 2 liter container and ordered the 1.4 liter container to be able to reduce minimum quantities for nut butter etc..

If you have to decide between the E310 and the TNC 5200, the minimum preparation quantity does not play a role. The diameter of the containers is identical. Therefore, the blending results as well as the minimum preparation quantity is identical.
In fact, the situation is different with the Pro 300, which has a significantly larger container diameter and longer blades. This leads to higher minimum preparation quantities, but it also allows even finer puréed smoothies. The addition of the 1.4-liter container to the Pro 300 therefore makes perfect sense if you want to prepare smaller quantities.

I am the proud owner of a Vitamix E310 and work with it every day. I am simply thrilled, but got a few questions. I have a lot of frozen raw sea buckthorn, I harvest it every year and then freeze it at home. So far, I have always briefly boiled them and afterwards blended them with a hand blender, allowing me to separate the seeds from the pulp. Can I now process the whole berries in the Vitamix? With core – is that safe for health?

Energy Balls are possible in almost all blenders, but there are devices that are better for this.
You can get a decent food processor that can make energy balls for less than 100 EUR. Energy balls require low speeds and high torque.
High-speed blenders, however, offer exactly the opposite: high speeds and low torque.
If you are primarily interested in energy balls, we have to fairly advise you not to purchase a high-speed blender (regardless of the model).

If all this doesn't scare you off, and you still want a high-speed blender… we would recommend a model with a relatively small container diameter, allowing the tamper to reach the corners while blending. The E310 would be suitable, for example.

are the blades of the Vitamix E310 identical to those of the TNC 5200. Are the blades made of the same hardened material, are both from the same manufacturer and are both the same size? Why is it claimed in a promotional video of the E310 the cup is not dishwasher safe, because I can not see any difference in the description of the material to that of the TNC 5200.

With the Vitamix E310, you are at about 250 ml when blending liquid preparations (e.g. fine green smoothies, fruit and vegetable smoothies or vegan milk). Sauces, dips, salsas, pestos, cold and hot soups (up to 100°C) and all other thicker viscous preparations from about 350-400 ml.

I was actually interested in the TNC 5200, which one of my colleagues also has, but I have now become aware of the E310.
Are there any differences between the two machines? Apart from the container size?
I would like to use the blender for fruit / vegetable smoothies, green smoothies, for nut butter and hummus, in the summer certainly times Nice Cream.
We are a two-person household, so I would rather use the 1.4 liter container. Is that enough, or is the larger container with 2 liters better?

The differences between the E310 and the TNC 5200 are minimal except for the tank size:
The left button is a pulse button on the E310 and a turbo button for maximum speed on the TNC 5200.
In terms of handling, the E310 is more beginner-friendly, but that is ultimately just a matter of time.
Regarding the container size, it can be said that the 2 liter container naturally leaves more room for improvement.
If you like to drink green smoothies as a meal replacement, you can make 1 liter per person with the 2 liter container. That's what some in our team do. Some even drink more than 1 liter and that's when the 2 liter container is not enough. You have to blend 2 times anyway, therefore 1.4 liters would also be enough.
By the way, the two containers are the same in terms of minimum quantities. Just because one container is smaller does NOT mean you can prepare smaller quantities in it. (Even though many intuitively assume that).
So, in terms of flexibility, the 2 liter container would be preferable.
Of course, you can also just start with the E310, and if you find that the container is not enough, you can buy another 2 liter container later. In this case, we would recommend the 2 liter Pro container. It is more expensive than the “Classic” container that comes with the TNC 5200, but the smoothies are creamier. Making the higher price acceptable!

The E310 continues the decades-long tradition of the TNC 5200 (Total Nutrition Center) and is almost identical to it in terms of performance. However, smaller container, slightly shorter warranty period, and slightly easier to use (left button is pulse button instead of turbo button).
Time Programs, as with the Ascent series, are not available, neither is Bluetooth, nor container detection.
Over-voltage and overheating protection, as known from the TNC 5200 are included, of course.
As for smoothie consistency, the E310 is TNC 5200-level, not Ascent-level. The Ascent series, just like the Pro 750, makes slightly finer puréed smoothies due to the large container base and longer blades.
To achieve the same level with the E310, you would still need the 2-liter "Pro" add-on container. In addition to the unbeatable creaminess of the container, you then also have a larger blending volume of 2 litres at your disposal. However, everyone must decide for themselves whether the extra charge is worth it.

YEAH!Wow, if only everything in the world would be like the Vitamix E310! The device joined me a little more than a week ago in my kitchen and is since then in continuous use: smoothies, hummus, nice cream, cashew cream cheese....Everything succeeds perfectly!
The HMI of the device (that's human machine interface, earlier one had said operating concept or so....) also convinces all along the line: 2 buttons and a jog dial are quite enough, there is no rocket science necessary. Of course, it is loud, but that's OK for the power it has. I am satisfied. -

Vitamix E310 - that's all you needHave so far 7 years had the Vitamix TNC 5200 in use. Now I wanted one that has full warranty again (5 years with E310).
The following can be said about the Vitamix E310 after the first test:
Good:
- Blending performance super. Just like the big one
- Fits well under the kitchen cabinet
- Quantity of the container - for one person super (up to 1000ml. More spinach you cannot get in)
- Cleaning is great - better than 2L and 0,9L containers
- Price - very good here for green smoothies
Neutral:
- Loudness - similar to the other (a bit louder maybe - but does not bother because loud it is anyway when you blend)
- Motor housing - spartan but good
Bad
- The rotary wheel for the speed control in front makes grinding noises when turning mine. But you can live with it
- Container: The handle is much thinner than what I had with the 2L or with the 0.9L container. For normal hands of a man about too thin I think. But you get used to it.
- Rubber lid - handling not as good as the 2L or 0.9L. It is a bit tricky when putting it on.. Detaching goes well.
Overall, I find that it is still a good blender that also offers advantages over the TNC 5200 (See above under "Good".)
Unfortunately, I can not say anything about long-term use.
