Celery specialist and price-performance winner - recommended by Anthony William

Now it's here, the first juicer that specializes specifically in making freshly squeezed celery juice: the Omega Juicers MM900. This slow juicer juices celery so efficiently that it scored the second highest juice yield in our celery juice juicer test behind the test winner Angel Juicer. No wonder celery juice expert Anthony William explicitly recommends the MM900.

Omega Juicers MM900 product highlights:

  • Highest celery juice yield: Omega has equipped the MM900 with an additional pulp regulator for the production of celery juice. Result: No other slow juicer currently gets this much juice out of green stalks!
  • Easy handling: Simple assembly and disassembly, easy juicing, quick cleaning - the Omega Juicers MM900 is one of the most user-friendly juicers around.
  • Compact design: The Omega Juicers MM900 is a horizontal juicer, but still of compact size. This makes it fit very well in kitchens with limited space.
  • Backed by a 5-year warranty on all parts.

Prepare celery juice with the Omega Juicers MM900

Overview

About the manufacturer Omega

Omega has been manufacturing juicers For over 30 years. They specialize in the production of fresh and cold pressed juices. The continuous development of its products allows the American company to shine with the best Slow Juicers in the mid-price segment on the market. A shiny new addition is the Omega MM900 - a slow juicer designed for making celery juice. Even celery juice expert Anthony William was impressed, recommending the Omega Juicers MM900 as the best juicer for green juices.

How good is the quality of the juice?

Prepare green juices rich in nutrients with the Omega Juicers MM900

Green juices

The Omega Juicers MM900 is wonderful for making green juices from leafy greens, grasses, celery or herbs. The juices taste full-bodied and smooth and are almost free of fiber residues and foam.

Vegetable and fruit juices - single-variety or mixed juices

Juices made from hard ingredients such as carrots, beetroot, crisp apples can be produced almost completely fiber free. The softer the juice ingredients are, the thicker the juice.

↑ up

Ginger and/or turmeric shots

Of course, the Omega Juicers MM900 can also be used to prepare healthy ginger shots or turmeric shots.

Tip: Both tubers can discolor light-colored countertops - especially turmeric, which is why we recommend placing a paper towel under the juice jug. This way, your countertop is protected from the drops of juice that don't end up in the juice jug!

Fresh sauerkraut juice

We regularly drink sauerkraut juice made from raw sauerkraut, the probiotic juice strengthens our good gut bacteria. Therefore, we have also tested the Omega Juicers MM900 for this application and were thrilled with the result: approximately 70 ml of juice is extracted from 100 g of fresh sauerkraut.

↑ up

Is the Omega Juicers MM900 capable of producing celery juice?

The supreme discipline for the Omega MM900: The production of freshly pressed celery juice. This is because the specially developed pulp regulator with extra seal is used for this purpose. The result: The juice yield is phenomenall! In our celery juice juicer test, it extracted an average of 408 ml of juice from 500 g of celery and putting it in 2nd place behind the test winner Angel Juicer which extracted 430 ml.

Preparation tip: Cut the celery stalks into 1-2 cm long pieces. In our experience, the Omega MM900 then juices even faster and even more efficiently.

↑ up

What other preparation possibilities are there?

Omega Juicers MM900 is primarily designed for juicing. However, the standard scope of delivery also allows the preparation of nut milk using soaked nuts.

Operation & handling of the Omega Juicers MM900

Assembling of the Omega Juicer MM900

The Omega Juicers MM900 can be assembled in no time - 6 parts have to be put together. First you attach the juice drum to the motor block. The locking ring is set to CLOSE. Then place the hopper on the juice drum. Now insert the auger through the juice drum until the tip is firmly anchored in the motor block. Now insert the juice screen below the auger. Now attach the pulp regulator with the corresponding cap (either for celery juice or other juices) and fasten it to the juice housing by turning it counterclockwise. Now position the juice jug and the pulp jar under the juice outlet and the pulp outlet, respectively, and connect the Omega Juicers MM900 to the power supply.

Adjusting the pulp regulator

Omega Juicers MM900 Celery Juice Pulp Regulation

For the production of clear juices from hard ingredients such as carrots, beet, crisp apples or fibrous ingredients such as celery, leafy greens or herbs, we recommend closing the pulp regulator completely with a counterclockwise rotation. The ingredients are squeezed against the screen with 80 revolutions per minute using maximum pressure for the highest juice yield possible.

This pulp regulation setting can also be maintained when juicing hard and soft ingredients alternately, such as ripe pears or pineapples, berry fruits, or stone fruits such as nectarines and peaches.

The pulp regulator must be adjusted if only soft ingredients are juiced; turning it clockwise reduces the pressure on the pulp.

Juicing with the Omega Juicers MM900

Before you start juicing, wash the ingredients, peel them if necessary and cut them according to the diameter of the feed chute. Now start the Omega Juicers MM900 by switching the central function button on the back of the motor block to ON. Now slowly add the ingredients one by one into the feed chute, use the tamper to push the ingredients towards the auger if necessary. When all ingredients are juiced, let the juice jug stay in its position for another 1-2 minutes. This way, every last drop of juice will be collected. When you remove the jug afterwards, simply place a cloth under the juice outlet to prevent staining the countertop.

Tip: Cut ingredients into 1-2 cm long pieces - especially fibrous ingredients like celery or herbs. The juicing process not only is faster, but the juice yield also is much higher.

Note: The maximum runtime in continuous operation is 30 minutes.

↑ up

In case of ingredient backlog, activate REV function

During juicing, ingredients may back up in the juice drum. This happens especially when soft ingredients such as mealy apples, overripe pears and pineapples or softer vegetables such as zucchini and cucumbers are juiced. The clogged ingredients can be freed with the help of the REV function. To do this, press and hold the REV function on the central function button on the backside of the motor block. Now the auger rotates backwards and frees the blockage. After about 10-15 seconds, release the REV button again, wait until the auger stops rotating and restart the juicer.

Tip: Ingredient clogging is mainly caused by juicing soft ingredients such as mealy apples, ripe pears or zucchini. If you juice the soft ingredients alternately with hard ingredients (carrots, beets or fibrous ingredients), ingredient clogging can be avoided in the first place!

Cleaning the Omega Juicer MM900

We generally recommend cleaning a juicer immediately after use. This way you prevent the residue from drying onto the parts of the juicer.

In addition, the Omega Juicers MM900 is very easy to clean. First, disconnect the juicer from the power supply. Now separate the juice drum from the motor block by moving the locking ring back to OPEN. It is best to place the juice drum in the sink and disassemble it there. First remove the juice residue, now rinse all parts with lukewarm water. Brush the screen with the cleaning brush provided and rinse it as well. Empty the juice jug and the pulp jar and rinse them with lukewarm water. Now allow all parts to air dry on a kitchen towel or dry them by hand. If necessary, wipe the motor block with a damp cloth and reassemble the juicer.

Dishwasher safe! You can occasionally clean the juicer parts - except for the motor block - in the dishwasher. Nevertheless, you should remove all major food residues as described above.

Cleaning brush

The MM900 is easy to clean, and it's even easier with our cleaning brush. It can be used to remove pulp residues quickly and efficiently, especially from the hopper and the juice drum. The cleaning brush can also be used for cleaning bottles, it perfectly fits through the bottle necks with its diameter of 3 cm.

What distinguishes the Omega Juicers MM900 from the MM900HDS?

It is basically the same model. The type designation MM900HDS stands for the variant in silver. However, the designation MM900 was always used in Germany. Since the market launch until summer 2021, only the silver version was offered in Germany, just like in the US. Since summer 2021, however, only the variant in chrome (MM900HDC) is offered in Germany instead of silver (MM900HDS) and still bears the designation MM900.

Difference between Omega Juicers MM900 and Omega Juicers 8228

Omega Juicers MM900 celery juice pomace control alongside normal pomace control also supplied with the 8228.

We frequently get asked what the difference is between the Omega Juicers 8228 and the MM900 - as both devices look remarkably similar. The visual similarity is no coincidence. Both devices are largely identical and only differ in the scope of delivery. The MM900 is based on the 8228 and is a version of the 8228 that specializes in celery juice. It is aimed at customers who primarily want to drink celery juice and value a high juice yield. A pulp regulator was specially developed for this purpose. It looks similar to the normal one from the outside, but is narrower on the inside and is supplemented by a green silicone ring. This increases the pressure of the auger, resulting in very dry pulp and really squeezing out every last drop of juice. This special pulp regulation and the normal regulation are included in the scope of delivery of the MM900.

To sharpen the profile, the blank screen (sorbet, ice cream) and the pasta/grissini attachments were omitted on the MM900, which wants to be perceived as a pure "juice machine".

What material is the auger made of? Ceramic?

Question submitted by Ulla Kuipers on February 17, 2022 at 18:46 o'clock

Hello Ulla,
thank you very much for your message.
The auger is made of plastic.
Ceramic is a great material, but also very brittle. Unfortunately, it cannot be completely avoided that some sand or small stones end up in the juice drum.
Best regards,
Your GrueneSmoothies.com Team!:-)

Hello,
I have an Omega J8227S juicer. Is it possible to use the green ring that comes with MM900 juicer with 8227? I make celery juice every day and my pulp always is quite wet. Thank you for your answer.

Question submitted by Kornelia on January 16, 2022 at 11:46 o'clock

Hello Kornelia,
thank you very much for your message.
Unfortunately, the pulp regulation for celery is not available for the 8227/8228.
However, you can proceed as follows to achieve a higher juice yield with celery: turn the pulp regulation ring completely closed with a counterclockwise rotation. This helps to increase the pressure in the juice drum, resulting in a higher juice yield.

The cleaning brush is included in the scope of delivery and also in the recommended accessories. Does that mean you need two (different)?

Question submitted by Susanne on July 14, 2021 at 15:08 o'clock

Hello Susanne,

Thank you very much for your message.

The scope of delivery includes the sieve brush. This looks like a large toothbrush and also is well suited for cleaning the caps.

Our recommended cleaning brush is perfectly suited for cleaning the juice drum, which is a bit longer.

Hello everyone, on 8.9.20 the answer to the question about additional parts (more sieves) for the MM900 said that they would be added to the program by the manufacturer this fall (2020). Is that the case in the meantime?

Question submitted by Susanne on June 30, 2021 at 15:58 o'clock

Hello Susanne,

Thank you very much for your message.
So far, there are no additional sieves for the MM900, and unfortunately, we have not received any new information from the manufacturer, when and if a release of additional sieves is planned at all.

Hello Green Smoothies Team,
I have the Sana Supreme EUJ-727 and would like to know if the juice drum (strainer, pulp regulator) of the Omega MM900 will fit here. The auger seems to be the same, isn't it?
Can this be purchased as a replacement / accessory to optimize the SANA?

Question submitted by Henrike on May 28, 2021 at 14:33 o'clock

Hello Henrike,

Thank you for your question.
The cap and the two pulp regulators of the MM900 only fit the MM900 and are incompatible with any other juicer.

Our devices are all supplied with a Schuko-plug. You would then need a fix adapter.
Unfortunately, we do not have a fix adapter ourselves, but it should not be a problem to get one, we have many Swiss customers.

Hello GrueneSmoothies.com Team,

I would like to make celery juice and other juices as well. I have read that this slow juicer works best for celery. What about hard and soft fruits and other vegetables? Would you recommend another juicer that is more suitable for "all-round" juicing?

Best regards,
Karin

Question submitted by Karin on June 5, 2021 at 11:56 o'clock

Hello Karin,

thank you very much for your message.

Since the MM900 only is equipped with a fine sieve, this juicer can juice hard and fibrous ingredients, such as celery, carrots, ginger, etc., very well. Mixed juices i.e. hard and soft ingredients combined are also possible, but the focus should again be on the hard ingredients!

If you are interested in a device with a wide range of applications, the Sana 707 or the Sana 727 are worth having a look at. These juicers are equipped with three sieves, with which you can process pretty much everything.

You can clean the parts – except for the motor block – occasionally (!) in the dishwasher. But the juice residues should be roughly removed first.
However, we recommend manual cleaning. Please always place the parts in the upper compartment of the dishwasher, and select an ECO program with a low temperature.

A friend of mine has the 8228, which also juices watermelons etc. well. Is the MM900 also suitable for this, or is it specialized on juicing celery? Does the MM900 also have an ice function?

Question submitted by Linda on July 21, 2020 at 09:11 o'clock

Hello Linda,

thank you very much for your message.

The Omega Juicers MM900 is a specialist for juicing green and fibrous vegetables, such as celery, leafy greens, grasses and herbs. It is also suitable for juicing fruits and vegetables. With softer ingredients, the juices will be a bit thicker, so if that doesn't bother you, the MM900 is a good choice.

However, it is not suitable for making sorbet and ice cream, as it only comes with a fine sieve and no blank sieve.

Kind regards,

Hey, where is the big difference now????
LG Ursula

Question submitted by Ursula Steinau on July 16, 2020 at 22:58 o'clock

Hello Ursula,
thank you very much for your message.
Both juicers are indeed similar in appearance.
The most significant difference is that in the MM900, has an addition pulp regulator -specifically for greens (celery or wild herbs). This additional pulp regulation included in the scope of delivery ensures higher pressure in the juice drum and thus an even higher juice yield.
This is why the MM900 is explicitly recommended by Anthony William.

Hello Beate-Diana,

Thank you for your message and your positive feedback :- )

The Sana MM900 HDS is the American version of the MM900. The different power grids require different engines.

The reason for this price difference is the transportation and storage costs.

How loud is the Omega Juicer MM900 compared to other juicers?

Question submitted by Helga Moherndl on July 14, 2020 at 08:38 o'clock

Hello Helga,
thank you very much for your question.

We have made the test: when operating the juicer in idle mode and at a distance of about half a meter away, the noise level was around 50 dB. This corresponds to a typical sound level of soft radio music or birds chirping.
Slow juicers like the MM900 work with a low number of revolutions, making them very quiet compared to centrifugal juicers.

Super appliances, the juice works phenomenally!
We bought a Champion Juicer over 20 years ago, mainly to make better use of the many fallen fruits in autumn, and we were thrilled with the quality, the juices and the handling.
This year in October, we started again to juice pumpkin, carrots, ... and apples once a day. After about three weeks, the machine started to stink. We wanted to send it in for repair, but it is no longer being made. At the same time, my husband (58) noticed that he no longer felt nauseous and no longer needed the tablets that were supposed to help him tolerate the many other tablets. He had received a stent in March and was diagnosed with a genetically high cholesterol level, which was also supposed to be lowered with tablets. This was all a bitter disappointment, as we had already switched to a predominantly vegetarian/vegan diet years ago. On closer inspection, we also noticed that we both had almost no flatulence for some time. (Previously, we had flatulence almost daily and were somewhat at a loss.) We started researching fresh juices and were amazed at what we found. As a result, my husband decided that we should immediately get a new juicer. The decision was made for the MM900, because of the celery juice yield. What a great device. It is much quieter than the Champion Juicer. It doesn't make a mess at all and it's amazing how little pulp is left! The Champion also leaked some juice from the side. The juice from the MM900 tastes wonderful, velvety and soft. Cabbage, parsley, dandelion,... no problem at all! The Champion had more difficulties with that. Only disadvantage: You have to chop the press material more beforehand so that the screw can grasp and crush it. But that's not why I'm writing today! I'm writing because so many things have improved through daily fresh juice drinking! We mainly press vegetables: e.g. cabbage, carrots, beetroot, potatoes, celery and a bit of apple. The composition varies. We have noticed the following changes since October: my husband's tablet nausea has disappeared, we only have flatulence rarely and very little, our skin is better (not so dry, cracked spots on the foot have healed, hardly any calluses), in the morning we both feel fresh and don't need any coffee at all, my husband - high blood pressure - has become noticeably calmer and more balanced. We had read that sometimes you don't lose weight because the fat encloses toxins to protect us. Meanwhile, my husband has lost 5 kg in weight without starving... His blood pressure (with tablets) was between 130 and 140. Now his values (still with tablets) are between 120 and 130. We now hope that the dose can be reduced at the next doctor's appointment. My husband is so thrilled with all these changes that he has bet with the doctor that he can manage to get off the medication naturally.
I (62) have lost 3.5 kg. We both feel more powerful - and all this after about 8 weeks of juice drinking. We drink once a day, about 300 - 400 ml of juice. We find such a development breathtaking for such a short period of time!!! We can't say how things will continue today, but the trend is very clear.
Best regards to your great team
Bettina

More versatile than expected
My focus is actually on celery juice, but I did not want to limit myself. Now and then a little variety, for example, with a freshly squeezed carrot juice or my pineapple, ginger, apple mixture is just great. With the Omega MM900 I get it all done.

Very satisfied
The long research on your website was worth it! For a long time I was unsure which juicer it should be, a phone call with you then narrowed the search. With the MM900 I have found the perfect juicer for me, thanks for the great advice.

I can recommend it
Top juicer not only for celery, but also for all other "green ingredients".
