Nicecream: Recipes at a glance
Nicecream base: peeled frozen bananas
I prefer to use frozen bananas as base for my Nicecream recipes. They provide a nice creamy consistency, but without any cream at all. It's important that you peel the bananas before freezing them. Cut them into slices - no wider than 1.5 cm - Put them in the freezer.
Tip 1: It's best to freeze several bananas at once, because once you've made Nicecream, you or your family will want more.
Tip 2:If you want to use other fruits as a frozen base - e. G. mangos, strawberries or wild berries, make sure that the frozen fruits are not larger than raspberries. This makes mixing much easier.
Prepare Nicecream in a high-speed blender
All you need is a powerful blender, which ideally can also mix at low speeds. Not every high-performance blender can do this! Depending on the container shape of your blender, different minimum amounts are necessary for the Nicecream preparation. While you can use the Vitamix TNC 5200 or the Vitamix E310 to make small amounts of ice cream starting at 400 ml, the Vitamix Pro 750, for example, requires 800 ml.

today I'd like to make nice cream with raspberries (it's going to be 31° and we'll have guests over). My question is, can I add some cold, unwhipped cream to make the cream even smoother? Thank you in advance for your response and many thanks for the many great recipes on your website (I've tried the vegetable smoothies, all of them are excellent and very refreshing, except the one with tomato, which wasn't for me).
thank you very much for your comment and the lovely recipe feedback. We really appreciate it!
Feel free to add a dash of cream to the Nicecream; just be careful not to make it too runny.
Best regards,
Carla
tried the recipe with espresso. Unfortunately, it was too liquid. What did I do wrong?
Best regards, Ulrike
the amount of espresso was probably too much and/or the amount of frozen bananas too little. Those are definitely the two factors to adjust in order to achieve a firmer texture in the Nicecream.
Best regards,
Carla
I have most of the fruit as a frozen option in the freezer (strawberries, mango cubes, raspberries, blueberries) because I harvest and collect a lot myself (not the mango ;-) and freeze it for storage.
Can I just use this frozen fruit in the recipes and leave the bananas unfrozen instead? Or will the ratio be off then?
Best regards, Moni.
thank you for your question. It should work if the bananas are not frozen by then. In terms of the ratio, you'll just have to give it a try.
Enjoy and savor it!
Carla
Best regards, Silke
rock-hard Nicecream - I've never had that before! Which recipe did you try? My first tip would be to let the frozen fruits thaw for a few minutes before blending.
Best regards,
Carla
okay - then let the frozen bananas thaw for a few minutes or add some liquid - e.g. cream or as a vegan alternative, plant-based milk?
Which blender did you use to make the nice cream?
Best regards,
Carla
did you succeed with the nice cream?
I just looked at the appliance with which you made the nice cream. It's not a high-speed blender, but a multi kitchen machine. That might have been the reason - the mixing attachment simply lacks the power.
Best regards,
Carla
great - thank you for sharing your experience. It might be interesting for others as well.
Best regards,
Carla
What if I only have dried raw mango available for making mango nice cream? Can I soak it in water? If yes, what would be the ratio to achieve a similar consistency to the recipe and fresh mango?
thank you for your question. You would definitely need to soak the dried mango pieces in water - you may also consider blending some of the soaking water with the mango. Since I have never made nice cream with dried fruits myself, I can't provide you with specific measurements. You would have to experiment on your own.
Best regards,
Carla
I have tried several times now to get your great nice cream recipes for printing. Unfortunately, it's not working. Maybe this way it will work. That would be great.
I have been a newsletter subscriber for a long time. Maybe that's the reason?

thank you so much for the lovely recipe feedback. The mango nicecream with ginger is also one of my favorites - especially with the lime zest as topping.
Kind regards,
Carla
Thank you very much for the recipe. Will make it today.
Should the nice cream be blended at high or low speed? I have read conflicting information on this.
Thank you very much
first of all, congratulations on the Wartmann blender - a really great device!
Regarding the Nicecream preparation: After you have let the bananas thaw briefly, please make the Nicecream at maximum speed and while blending, use the tamper to move the mixture towards the blades. It should work without any issues this way. We are excited to hear your feedback!
Lots of love,
Carla

I would recommend the Wartmann Blender to you. Thanks to its narrow tapered container, you can also make small amounts of nice cream with it. Of course, it also ensures creamy-smooth green smoothies and can be used for all popular blender preparations such as hummus, almond milk, pesto, or apple sauce.

Carla

Since I currently have a lot of fresh raspberries, I naturally also want to try making raspberry brandy. But what about the seeds? I could imagine that at a lower speed, the seeds might not be completely crushed in the finished nice cream. Or?
I've had the Vitamix S 30 for a few days now.
Smoothies are great, as is cashew cream.
It took a bit longer to make peanut-cashew butter because I initially didn't have enough ingredients in the blender, but the result is creamy and delicious.
However, I'm having some trouble with nice cream. At first, I think I also didn't have enough ingredients, ending up with chunks and a bit of a mess. Not to mention the unpleasant odor.
Now, according to the recipe, I blended 125g of cashew yogurt and 225g of frozen strawberries. I started slowly, then increased the speed to 10. The blades were spinning empty, and big air bubbles appeared.
Should nice cream be blended entirely on a low speed? If so, which speed is recommended for the S 30?
Best regards,
Silke
