Handling & operation of the Vitamix A2300i
The operation is as simple as you expect from Vitamix. The jog dial is used to set the desired speed. You then either choose to press and hold the left pulse button, or use the right on/off switch to get the blender started.
If you want to end the blending process, press the right button again or release the pulse button.
During the blending process, the LCD display shows the minutes already mixed. This can be helpful in daily use as well as when creating new recipes.
Ecological: The Vitamix A2300i has a "real" on/off switch on the right. This is easily accessible and at the same time hidden under a small cover to prevent anything from running into the grooves. Top!

Is the Vitamix A2300i loud?
The volume of the Vitamix A2300i is within the normal range of its performance class. If you run it a bit below maximum speed, it is quieter. The taste is slightly reduced, especially in green smoothies, but the blending result is still much better than from most (equally loud) blenders.
Cleaning the Vitamix A2300i Ascent Series
Cleaning the Vitamix A2300i container
The easiest way is to rinse the container under running water after each blending process. If this is not sufficient, you can fill the container with warm water and add a drop of dishwashing liquid - 20 - 30 seconds on maximum speed . Afterwards, you should be able to rinse the container under running water. If more stubborn food residues are sticking to the container, our cleaning brush will help. The fine horsehair doesn't scratch the container and gently removes residues.
Our cleaning recommendation: Regardless of manufacturer instructions, we advise against cleaning the container, container lid, and insert in the dishwasher. Our experience shows that you can extend the lifespan of the container through manual cleaning.
Cleaning the Vitamix A2300i motor block
The container sits on a rubber mat, which can be removed and cleaned under running water if necessary.
The remaining surfaces of the motor block can be wiped with a damp cloth.
Recommended accessories for the Vitamix A2300i
Vitamix Aer Disc Container Smart
The Vitamix Aer Disc Container Smart is a real upgrade for your kitchen, TV gourmet creations are no longer unreachable. Perfected for emulsifying, foaming, stirring and whipping, it can be used to make hollandaise sauce, fine emulsions and gourmet foams or simply cream.
Vitamix 1.4 Liter Container Smart for smaller preparation quantities from 250 ml
If you also want to prepare small quantities (smoothies & pestos from 250 ml, (n)ice cream & nut puree from 500 ml - 800 ml), you should consider the Vitamix 1.4 Liter Container Smart. With the purchase of the 1.4 litre container you are "fully equipped".
Vitamix Dry Grains Container Smart for coffee or cereals
If you regularly grind coffee or cereals, the Vitamix Dry Grains Container Smart is recommended. For occasional grinding, the normal "wet" containers are also suitable. The containers may become blind/cloudy over time, making it difficult to see the containers content. This may not matter when grinding, but when blending pesto, which needs to have a very specific consistency, it is important to see when this consistency is reached in order to stop the blender at the right time.
Vitamix Family Set
The Vitamix Family set which comes with a 225 ml container and a 600 ml container is available as an optional accessory for the Vitamix Ascent series. Perfect for small quantities of pesto, dips, baby food, etc.
Vitamix Tamper Holder for Ascent Series
To ensure that the tamper is always within reach, there is a practical, small tamper holder to match the blender. You can attach it to the left or right side of the motor block.
Cleaning Brush
For cleaning the container we recommand our cleaning brush, as viscose preparations tend to stick to the base of the blades (this happens with all blenders).

Safety features of the Vitamix A2300i
- Overheat protection: to protect the motor from overheating, the Vitamix A2300i has an overheat protection feature that shuts down the motor if it gets to hot. This usually happens during the preparation of viscous-sticky recipes, such as dough, hummus or nut butter. These preparations really slow down the blades and cause the motor to release its energy through heat. After a few minutes of cool down, however, the motor is fully ready for use again.
- Container lid detection: If the lid is not attached, the blender won't turn on. The intelligent container detection (that's what the "i" in the name stands for) not only detects whether the lid is on, but also the container type. When using the small to-go containers, the speed is throttled to prevent excessive pressure in the container.

Vitamix A2300 or A2300i? Which is right now?
In USA, the home market of Vitamix, the A2300i is not available, only the previous model A2300. The difference between the two models is the the i-ntelligent container detection. The German model with "i", can only be switched on when the lid is firmly closed. A thoroughly successful safety feature. Unfortunately, this feature also requires all additional containers to be redeveloped for the European market. Presumably, this is the reason why we have to wait for the 1.4 liter container.
Vitamix A2300i alternatives
Vitamix A2300i vs. Vitamix A3500i
The A2300i is the entry-level model in the latest Vitamix smart blender series. This comparatively low price makes us wonder where the costs have been cut compared to the premium A3500i model. Let's start with the most important: Where no savings were made
- Performance: the motors are identical, the speed and load capacity of the conatiner as well as the blades, and the creaminess and consistency of the blending result too.
- Warranty: The warranty conditions are identical.
- Timer: When blending, you are always shown how much time has passed.
- Safety: The blender only starts when the lid is firmly in place. Accidental start and splashed kitchen excluded.
- Dishwasher safe: The containers of both models are dishwasher safe.
- Preparation possibilities: The preparation possibilities are absolutely identical in both models.
What justifies the higher price of the A3500i?
- Design: The A3500i has a stainless steel casing, which admittedly looks much better than the plastic casing of the A2300i. As a layman, you can't tell that the A2300i costs over €500, but the A3500i does. Those who want their expensive kitchen appliances to look like "luxury" will buy the A3500i. If you don't care about that, you can save some money here.
- Ease of use: The A3500i comes with 5 time programs. These are pre-programmed time cycles that start at the touch of a button and stop when the time is up - you can leave the room after starting the blending program. Do you realy need it? Not necessarily, since most preparations in the blender take less than 60 seconds. We like the convenience of the timer programmes - allowing us to start cleaning up the kitchen while the blender prepares our meal.
Vitamix A2300i vs. Vitamix A2500i
The Vitamix A2300i is the entry-level model in the Ascent series. Compared to the Vitamix A2500i, it only offers the following advantages:
- Simplicity: operation can hardly be simpler. Those who really like it minimalistic will have true joy with the A2300i.
- Price: The A2300i is a bit cheaper.
Disadvantages compared to the Vitamix A2500i:
- Convenience: The 3 time programs are missing.
Vitamix A2300i vs. Vitamix TNC 5200
The Vitamix A2300i offers modern improvements over the TNC 5200:
- Ease of cleaning: The new container of the A2300i is dishwasher safe. The slim design ensures that the A2300i container fits in any sink and does not interfere with the faucet.
- Safety feature: The container lid must be closed, otherwise the blender will not start. Accidental switch-on and smoothie splashes are no longer possible.
- Warranty: The warranty period has been extended. 10 years of usability are promised with the A2300i, if it is used purely privately.
Disadvantages compared to the Vitamix TNC 5200:
- Proven quality: The Vitamix TNC 5200 is the most robust Vitamix on the market - so to speak, it has proven itself for decades.
- Preparation possibilities: The TNC 5200 comes in the standard edition with the most versatile 2-liter container. This makes small, medium or large preparation quantities possible, coarse or fine: No other Vitamix container allows more variety of preparations!
- With Turbo button: The TNC 5200 is the only Vitamix that has a turbo button - hold left switch up and this blender operates at maximum speed. The turbo is ideal for seasoning and tuning dishes or for remixing when something sticks.

Since I keep finding different information about it: Can you grind grain with the a2300i?
Thank you very much and best regards! Claudia
Question submitted by Claudia Thiel on July 21, 2020 at 23:50 o'clock
Hello Claudia,
thank you very much for your message.
You can also grind grain with the large 2.0 liter container. As a minimum quantity, a handful of dry ingredients is usually sufficient!
However, if you grind harder foods in the container more often, this can lead to premature signs of wear (plastic becomes cloudy / blind)

I am looking for a blender that is focused on smoothies, but can also prepare nut butter, pesto, and oat milk. Unfortunately, I can not decide between E310 and the A2300i. He should last as long as possible, and hard ingredients such as carrots or ginger should not be a problem.
Right now, I would choose the A2300i (10-year warranty). But I wonder if all these technical features could turn out to be disadvantages in the long run. The device should last 10/15 years!
Today I also came across the Creations and the pro 300 and now finally overwhelmed. Which Vitamix would you recommend? Thank you very much!
Question submitted by Maxi on May 20, 2020 at 11:16 o'clock
Hello Maxi,
Thank you very much for your message.
The dishes you mentioned can generally be prepared with all Vitamix devices. However, with the large containers of the Ascent series or the Pro 300, you should keep an eye on the minimum preparation quantity (approx. 600-700 ml) for viscous dishes, such as nut butter, pesto, etc. The small additional containers of the Ascent series are more suitable for liquid dishes.
The Vitamix E310 or the Creations certainly fit your needs a bit better: You don't need any additional containers, as both large and small quantities can be prepared in the Classic container. Both devices do not quite achieve the creaminess as with the containers with the large blades – nevertheless, the result is fine, and the devices work reliably!
Kind regards from Berlin,

Is the included 2 liter Low-profile (Tritan) container equipped with both – dry and wet blades? Can it process both types of preparations? Can I make nut butter and smoothies in this container? Thank you :)
Question submitted by Kris on March 31, 2020 at 09:30 o'clock
Hello Kris,
thank you very much for your message
The 2.0 liter container, can easily prepare smoothies from about 400 ml.
For viscous ingredients, such as nut butter, you need a minimum preparation quantity of approx. 600 ml.
You can also process dry foods. However, if you grind harder foods in the container more often, it can lead to premature signs of wear (plastic becomes cloudy / blind)
Kind regards from Berlin :- )

Hello,
i am wavering between the A2300i and the Pro 750, what is the difference in creaminess between these two blenders? And what is the minimum volume in the 2l cup on the A2300i? Thanks a lot!
Question submitted by Benedikt Auer on February 23, 2020 at 08:14 o'clock
Hello Benedikt,
thank you very much for your message
Since the containers are identical in shape, there is no difference in creaminess. The minimum preparation quantity also is identical.
Liquid dishes: Approx. 400 ml
Viscous dishes: Approx. 600-700 ml
Kind regards from Berlin :-)

Hello dear Green Smoothies Team,
i have been a member of the blender community for over 5 years now, it is now time to decide on a Vitamix - I now have a question about the A2300i as I would also like to use it with the small 600 and 225ml blender containers.
Does the blender technology recognize the two small containers as "sealed" - I ask because yes the container that comes with the blender has this special latching of the lid that needs to be recognized in order for it to run.
Thanks a lot for your help !
Kind regards
Katja
Question submitted by Katja on July 20, 2019 at 11:38 o'clock
Hello Katja,
thank you for the question.
The A2300i will not start if the cup (250 ml or 600 ml) is not tightly closed on the blade base.
This is just as “safe” as with the supplied container.

Hi.
I bought A2300i from your store. It works perfectly, I am very satisfied!
However, I cannot figure out what the switch on the left side is for. It doesn't seem to do anything. Can you please explain this to me?
Thank you
Tadej
Question submitted by Tadej on May 7, 2019 at 21:47 o'clock
Hi Tadej,
thanks for asking! We are happy to hear that you like your new blender.
The switch on the left side is for pulsing. You can use it for example if you want to chop carrots for your salad. Set the speed on the lowest level and just push the left switch in short intervals so that the pieces do not become too small. The pulse function enables pinpoint control over the blades.
Hope, we could help you!

Hello, I am interested in the ascent 2300i.
Since we are a 2-person household, I would like to know if the 2 liter container can easily prepare smoothies of up to 750ml
Question submitted by Ulla Rommelfanger on November 6, 2019 at 09:28 o'clock
Hello Ulla,
thank you very much for your question.
You can easily prepare up to 2 litres of smoothie in the Vitamix Ascent 2300i – the consistency remains the same: creamy-fine!

Hello dear team,
i received my A2300i yesterday. Thanks for the super fast delivery :)
Unfortunately I don't understand the pulse button. When I press it during blending, it has no effect at all. How do I use this button correctly?
Thanks a lot
Question submitted by Theresa on November 5, 2019 at 10:16 o'clock
Hello Theresa,
thank you very much for your request.
The pulse button is there to blend the food with short pulses. This can be interesting if you only want to chop vegetables, for example. To start the pulse button, set the desired speed with the rotary wheel and keep the left pulse button pressed as long as you want. To end the blending process, simply release the pulse button.
Best regards and have fun with your Vitamix!

My Vitamix A2300i turns of as soon as I add cooked ingredients into the container … is this the overheating protection of the motor? Can this be intentional?
Question submitted by Jonny on April 25, 2019 at 11:27 o'clock
Hello Jonny,
thank you very much for your inquiry.
The overheat protection of the Vitamix A2300i does not turn on because of the hot temperature of the food being blended, but presumably because of the consistency of the food being blended. The more viscous and the lower the mixing speed, the faster the overheating protection switches on.
Most often, overheating of the motor occurs at low or medium speeds, only very rarely at high speeds. As the motor is cooled by a radial fan, the following correlation applies: The higher the speed, the better the cooling of the motor.
A general rule can be stated:
The higher the motor rotates, the lower the probability of overheating.
The more viscous the material to be mixed, the higher the (thermal) load on the motor.
Tough mixables include: Energy Balls, nut butter, hummus, and ice cream.
The following tips may help:
- Do not blend too much at once: If larger quantities are to be processed, split into two blending runs if necessary.
- Do not use too little ingredients: To be able to push the product from the container wall back to the blade, you need to fill the container with enough material so that you can reach the product with the tamper.
- Speed: If possible, use higher speeds and press out any air bubbles with the tamper.
- Work in pulses: Work in short bursts with the pulse button
Many greetings

Hello, I see in your website that the a2300i is available immediately, but in the shopping cart from 2-3 days. What is the actual delivery time?
Sending to the Netherlands, is the shipment insured? Can the package be shipped? Is it also possible to draw when ordering?
Best regards,
Ralph
Question submitted by Ralph on October 4, 2019 at 23:08 o'clock
Hello Ralph,
Thank you very much for your questions.
We have the A2300i in stock and if the order is received and paid before 1pm Mon-Sat, we will ship the package the same day with DHL Premium.
To the Netherlands it will take about 2 business days. The orders from the weekend or Monday until 1pm will be shipped on Monday and have so far mostly been delivered on Wednesday in the Netherlands.
The shipment, of course, is insured and there is a tracking code for tracking.
Unfortunately, we do not understand what is meant by “draw on delivery”? Payment on ordering? In Germany, this would be called “cash on delivery” and unfortunately, we do not offer it.

Hello! I want to buy a Vitamix and can not decide... I'm wavering between the pro 300 and the A 2300i. I already own the Vitamix S30 which is definitely too small for us (family of 6)....
Thank you very much!

PS: thanks also for the remarkable website!!
Question submitted by Vero on December 18, 2018 at 15:27 o'clock
Hi Vero,
thank you for the question.
There is no clear winner, but as is often the case, it depends on how you personally weigh the pros and cons.
Reasons that we have heard from customers for the A2300i:
Cups & Bowls available (similar to the 600 ml container of the S30 and 225 container)
10-year warranty
Reasons given for the Pro 300:
Quiet
Low tech without Bluetooth radiation
1.4 liter tank available
Maybe one or the other point will help here.
Otherwise, please give us a call as details are better explained on the phone.

When will the 0.24L and 0.6L containers for the Ascent series be available on the German market? Above you wrote that the To-Go containers will be available in summer 2018. Would the Family Pack also be available in Germany at some point? (A2300i plus 0.6L, 2 x 0.24L and blade base)
Greetings,

Hello Emma,
thank you for the question.
First of all, thank you for pointing out the release date of the ToGo containers. This has unfortunately been postponed again and again.
We have now been informed that the ToGo containers will be available in 2 sizes from the end of November: 225 ml and 600 ml.
A Family Pack, as in the USA, will probably not be available. Those who want the containers would simply order them.
The cups and bowls are now listed in our store under Vitamix Accessories.

Hello, why do the devices from the ascend series need bluetooth?
Is it permanently switched on? Can it be turned off when you do not need it? Otherwise you are permanently irradiated.
I'm deciding between the Pro300 and the A2300i, so the answer to the bluetooth question would be decisive for me
The ascend series throttles the speed in different containers, so there are disadvantages? So maybe not everything is mixed properly?
Question submitted by Dennis on July 18, 2018 at 17:21 o'clock
Hello Dennis,
so far the BT interface is used for communication with the Vitamix Perfect Blend app. As long as the blender is switched on, Bluetooth is also activated.
However, the blender can be switched off completely, including Bluetooth, via the real(!) on/off switch on the right side.
We do not see the throttling in the Ascent models as a disadvantage, since they refer to the cup containers, whose utility value is limited.
The container shape is suboptimal for smoothies, which is why you should always blend in the larger container, and you don't need maximum speed for dips or pesto, for which the cups could be suitable anyway. By the way, the throttling serves the purpose that the containers do not deform due to the expansion of the contents (due to frictional heat).

Good day, does the A2300i also work with the new Vitamix app? Thank you
Question submitted by Petra on May 18, 2018 at 13:31 o'clock
Hello Petra,
thank you for the question.
The Vitamix Perfect Blend app is compatible with all Vitamix A models (smart blenders), including the Vitamix A2300i.
It is currently available in English for iOS and Android.
The app can also be used to load a special time program onto the Vitamix A2300i, which does not have any programs out of the box.
This really makes sense for the Vitamix A2300i, especially when soups are to be heated by friction heat in the blender. This takes several minutes, and you might not want to stand next to the blender and its noise all the time, even though the A models are among the quietest Vitamix blenders.
The app is activated and must be paired with the blender (activate Bluetooth!). You can then select the desired time program and upload it to the blender.
In our optinion the app is quite time consumingfor the regular 7 am daily smoothie, the manual mood is simply faster.
However, the app currently has a total of 17 time programs and numerous recipe ideas ready to inspire you and will also be further developed!
Whether with time programs or without, you will therefore certainly have long pleasure with a Vitamix!

Very good with minor flawsDoes what it should quite well.
Properly clean the container but only in the dishwasher. And I'm afraid that the container suffers somewhat over time.
And it would be great if there was a 1.4 liter container. The 600ml is good for a small smoothie but sometimes too little. The large one is always too big for me
The off switch on the side is unfortunately a bit small and also not as finished as the rest. Therefore, in total only 4 stars -

Super, but I am still missing accessoriesHi, a question, when is the Vitamix under blade scraper and the tamper holder for A2300-3500i to buy? Both are available on the US homepage.
Editor's note:
Thank you for the question. We generally try to offer all Vitamix products that are intended for the German market. We only deviate from this rule in very rare exceptional cases, such as the 0.9-liter wet container (for the old Classic blenders), where we have deliberately decided against continuing it in our range. So as soon as the products are available in this country, we will include them in the range.

Super blender at the cutting edge of technologyMy first Vitamix was a S30 - since my friend has also come to the smoothie taste, the 1.2 liter container was quickly too small and we had to get a larger device. I could not decide at first whether it should be a Pro 300 or an A2300i (automatic programs I do not need). I then decided on the A2300i and am thrilled! On the one hand, I like the simple design very well - since he is constantly used and the blender is always in the kitchen was also very important to me. The Pro 300 would have been just as good in terms of performance - but what ultimately convinced me in the A2300i is the lid that simply clicks on and thus closes securely and tightly (with the S30 I often had the problem that the liquid has escaped sideways) and is also super easy to open again (with the S30 it has often jammed). The drying of the container and lid is a little more complex than the S30 but that does not bother me. The timer is also super handy because I can see exactly how long the blender runs. I'm looking forward to trying out many other things besides smoothies and will certainly buy more containers in 2019.
My conclusion: absolute purchase recommendation :-)
