Tip 1: If you blend for significantly longer than 90 seconds, add ice cubes or use ice cold water to keep the smoothie from heating up too much.
Tip 2: Our recipes sometimes use very fibrous leafy greens, such as wild herbs and parsley. With these ingredients, a normal kitchen blender quickly reaches its performance limit. Result: less creamy smoothies. We recommend - replace the fibrous ingredients with leafy greens that are easier to puree, such as baby spinach, lamb's lettuce or lettuce.
Have fun blending and enjoying!

Which smoothies are recommended to replace breakfast? I've read online that it should be the green smoothie. Now, I'd like to have that confirmed by the smoothie pros.
thank you very much for your comment. For us, it has definitely been the green smoothie that has replaced our entire breakfast. Due to the leafy greens it contains, it keeps you feeling fuller for longer compared to a pure fruit smoothie. In terms of quantity, we drink about 700-1000 ml as a meal replacement. However, it can also be more or less, depending on your individual needs. And of course, you can also replace lunch or dinner with a green smoothie—whatever fits into your daily diet. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out again or take a look at our Green Smoothies FAQ. There, you'll find answers to the most common questions about the green smoothie.

thank you very much for your comment and feedback on our green smoothie recipes for beginners. A good high-speed blender is definitely capable of completely pureeing the peels of fresh citrus fruits and ginger. May I ask which blender you are using?
Best regards,
Carla
thank you for your comment. One way to reduce the sugar content of green smoothies would be to try savory smoothies with tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados, or bell peppers. Otherwise, berries, stone fruits like cherries, plums, and apricots are known to have lower sugar content. You can easily find lists of low-sugar fruits online or consult with a professional nutritionist for advice.

Carla
when our recipes call for a slice of pineapple, do you mean the entire slice including the core? I'm a bit confused about that.
Best regards,
Marion
thank you for your question. When we mention a slice of pineapple, it does include the core. It's not a problem for a high-speed blender to handle it :)

Carla

I am a member of a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) that produces regional and seasonal vegetables. I have been interested in green smoothies for a while now, but I haven't found a good approach yet. Mainly because the recipes often lack regional and seasonal fruits and vegetables. I find that quite unfortunate. Perhaps there could be a collection of green smoothie recipes that are based on our region and the current season? Because where am I supposed to get strawberries, apricots, etc. in winter? That is anything but sustainable.
I'm curious to see if there will be such a collection.
Best regards,
Evi
thank you for your comment. I completely understand your desire for regional and seasonal ingredients in green smoothies. In winter, the options for fruit ingredients are limited to apples and pears. While you can occasionally use them, it can become quite boring in terms of taste. Bananas work well as a sweetener in green smoothies, but they are not regional. Alternatively, you could consider enjoying green smoothies during the summer when there is a wider selection of seasonal and regional fruits available.
And every now and then, it's okay to make an exception and use non-local ingredients :)
Best regards,
Carla
