About the manufacturer Kuvings
Along with Angel Juicer, Tribest and Hurom, Kuvings is one of the largest slow juicer producers in the world. The South Korean manufacturer has made itself a name for its wide-mouth hopper. This hopper is extra wide so that whole apples can fit through it - therefore the chopping of the ingredients is less time consuming.
How good is the quality of the juice?
Whether it's leafy greens, celery, or apples, the Kuvings EVO820 conjures up velvety smooth, fiber-free juices that are absolutely on par with what we would expect from a vertical slow juicer in this price range.
Is the Kuvings EVO820 capable of producing celery juice?
The Kuvings EVO820 achieved a high juice yield in our celery juice juicer test, it's important to keep in mind that vertical juicers tend to clog, especially when juicing fibrous ingredients. Those who drink celery juice on regular basis should be happier with a horizontal juicer, such as the Sana Juicer 707 or the test winner Angel Juicer.
Important preparation note: The celery stalks should be cut into 1-2 cm long pieces making it easy to separate the pulp from the juice during the juicing process.
What other preparation possibilities are there?
Making nut milk in the Kuvings EVO820
Nuts or almonds - soaked overnight - can be processed into nut milk in no time. To do this, the soaked nuts are mixed with water in a 1:3 ratio and poured into the hopper. Nut milk then comes out of the juice outlet. It couldn't be easier!
Operation & handling of the Kuvings EVO820
The Kuvings EVO820 is easy to assemble. Just make sure that the red dots on the hopper, screen and juice drum are all on top of each other. The Slow Juicer can only start operation when it is properly assembled.
Juicing with the Kuvings EVO820
In principle, there are two ways to fill the EVO820. With open flip gate or with closed flip gate. The open flip gate is suitable for apples or whole oranges, which are hand-sized and spherical. For elongated stalks, such as carrots or celery stalks, it's best to keep the flap closed while using the narrow opening to add the ingredients. Fibrous ingredients such as celery stalks or parsley should be cut to 1-2 cm long pieces.
The FWD switch is pressed and off you go. Usually, the ingredients are pulled into the juice drum on their own, but sometimes ingredients get stuck. In this case, simply use the tamper.
As soon as the hopper empties a little, more ingredients can be added. It may help not to fill the hopper to the rim to avoid clogging the juice drum.
When all ingredients are added and no more pulp is coming out of the outlet or the juice drum is already filled to the maximum, the juice outlet can be opened. Tilt the slow juicer towards the juice outlet to get the last drops out of the device.
If the juice drum is clogged, press the REV button
Actually, this should only happen if you're juicing something new and you haven't quite gotten the hang of it yet. If this happens, there are usually just too many ingredients in the juice drum, causing it to clog. The only thing that helps: go backwards, i. e. press the REV button for a few seconds to clear the blockage in the juice drum. When the blockage is cleared, restart the EVO820 by setting the control switch back to FWD.
Cleaning the Kuving EVO820
The Kuvings EVO820 is best cleaned immediately after juicing. If the hopper is difficult to loosen, you can help yourself with the included opener. All parts can be cleaned under running water using the included cleaning brush. However, for cleaning the screen, we recommend purchasing the additionall screen cleaning brush from Sana (see recommended accessories).
Recommended accessories
Cream & Smoothie Set for Kuvings EVO820
A useful extension for the Kuvings EVO820 is this set of two inserts: The blank screen can prepare (ice) creams or fruit purees from raw or cooked fruits. You can also prepare sorbets from frozen fruit with the blank screen. The second insert is a coarse screen, which Kuvings misleadingly calls "smoothie screen". This coarse screen is designed to produce thicker juices with pulp, and make it easier to juice a larger amount of soft fruits such as mealy apples or pears.
Kuvings Lemon Juicer for EVO820
The range of use of the Kuvings EVO820 can easily be extended with the Kuvings lemon juicer attachment. This allows you to quickly squeeze oranges, lemons, limes or grapefruits.
Flat cleaning brush for Sana
As described above, we recommend the use of an additional cleaning brush for cleaning the screen, namely the one from Sana. It is nice and flat, has resistant bristles and can clean the screen pores from ingredient residues very well.

Thinking of ordering the carvings evo820. I live in Sweden so I'm wondering what type of plug it has?

Hi Liz, thank you for your message. In Sweden, 230 V alternating voltage is common, as in Germany. Therefore, you do not need an additional adapter.
Many greetings,

Dear team, I am interested in the Evo and wonder if you can simply pour water into the hopper – would this "pre-cleaning" make the final cleaning any easier?
After days of reading and stalking your website, I think the EVO is right for me.
Thank you very much for your answer.
Greetings Petra

Hello Petra,
thank you for your message.
Of course, you could first add water to the juice drum through the hopper.
However, you cannot avoid rinsing the parts involved in the juicing process afterwards. Pulp must be removed from the auger.
You will most likely also have to clean the sieve sufficiently.
Best regards,
Your GrueneSmoothies.com Team

Good day dear employees,
is the cleaning brush for the fine sieve available for re-purchase. After a year of daily use, this is unfortunately no longer very serviceable, and I have not found it on the website.
We still are thrilled by our best and most used purchases in the kitchen sector.
All the best,
Bärbel Maletius

Good day,
we recently purchased the Kvings EVD820 from you. We are thrilled with it.
Now my question to the experts. Do the parts need to be washed by hand or can they go in the dishwasher.
Best regards
Werner Smidt
Question submitted by Werner on February 11, 2020 at 13:24 o'clock
Hello Werner,
We are excited to hear that you are so happy with the juicer :- )
Please clean the individual parts by hand only. This helps to preserve the plastic and prevent it from premature wear.
Please let us know if you have any questions!
Kind regards from Berlin,
Betsy from the GrueneSmoothies.com team

I love him...With the predecessor a centrifugal juicer I was no longer happy. After extensive research, I decided on the EVO and I am very satisfied. FAST cleaning and great juice yield with delicious taste. Even the pressing of green vegetables succeeds wonderfully.

Super slow juicerThe evo 820 scores very clearly with clear juices and only a little pomace in the juice, the juice is clear and free of pomace, today it has jammed a bit and it took us a while to figure out how to open it for cleaning, we used the opening tool that comes with the juicer, until we understood how it works, it took a while. Overall, we are very satisfied with the kuvings evo 820, the smoothie and sorbet attachment has not yet been used, but we are very excited to test the two attachments soon.

Review comparing Kuvings and SanaIn the spring I bought the Sana Juicer EUJ-828 here with you. And I must say I really got back pain from the cleaning. To to mention the water that flows unnecessarily into the drain, until the device is finally clean. In addition, the mini brush, that does not reach into the outlet. Therefore I really whistle on the glass containers (and they are noble). Also the juice is very flaky with residues and a lot of foam. Fortunately, a friend buys it from me and I am since Saturday a proud owner of the Kuvings EVO 820. How happy I am. The juice has no residue, tastes great (I take the same ingredients and cut them to fit) and the parts are cleaned in no time. What good is a little more juice yield if you need 3 times as much water, time and nerves when cleaning - So clearly thumbs up for Kuvings, that is worth the higher price.
